Why September 23rd, 2025 is not necessarily the day of the Rapture

I want you to take a few minutes and consider September 23rd, 2025. I don’t believe, like some, that the Lord will necessarily return on September 23rd, 2025. I can’t say for sure that He won’t return that day either. That’s up to Him and Him alone. Any day is possible, but one day He will return! Upon trying to summarize all kinds of issues that I’ve seen and what I wanted to say, I saw that a pastor online said essentially all of the same things that I was going to write (we read from the same Script, so…) You can watch it here:

A note about the Feast of Trumpets

If your belief is that the Rapture is connected to the Feast of the Trumpets, you’ll end up paying attention to a particular week, or month in the calendar year, instead of always being ready (Matt. 24:44, 1 Th. 5:2). As for me, I don’t believe that the Rapture is a completion of the feast of trumpets. In fact, it’s interesting that after the Rapture, believers in Jesus will be having a feast of their own, the marriage supper of the Lamb (Rev. 19:7-9, Matt. 22:1-14, Matt. 25:1-13, Eph. 5:32)! You’re officially invited by the way!

If you’re interested in more about the feasts or festivals of Israel (Lev. 23), I’ve tried to include links to the best, most authoritative help, but I can’t vouch for every, single opinion, but here’s some good ones: Monergism has a really thorough article on the feasts, GotQuestions, TableTalk, Bible.org, Hebrew4Christians, and more! Some day I might come back to this article and add more.

Some great news!

If you’re looking at current events like the U.N., the ramping up of evil in the world (ie., the murder of Charlie Kirk, and others, etc.), the war in Israel, earthquakes, famines, spiritual war, and on and on… I’ve got great news for you. The Lord actually is coming back! And soon. I’ve never seen anything like the times we’re living in, and I’m not the only one. Across Christendom and even in the unbelieving world, people are strongly noticing the times they’re living in. This clearly means we should be watching more and more as the time draws nearer. It’s an exciting time for Christianity, but as a Christian, this draws me to be more at work doing the things that the Lord would have me to do. Each day is another opportunity to share the Gospel and grow closer with the Lord. I want to encourage you to do the same!

Lack of Biblical teaching on Prophecy

By the same token, one of the most distressing and disturbing things I’m seeing in Christianity is the lack of Biblical teaching on prophecy. A lack of “watching”, anticipating, and expecting the Lord’s return. In one of the most tumultuous, and exciting times in human history, the Church is failing at this command, and it shows. We’re on the precipice of the Lord coming back and most pulpits are silent!!

My dear brothers in the pulpit, you should be teaching Biblical prophecy for many reasons.

  1. Out of obedience. 1/3 of the Bible is prophecy, and the Bible strongly teaches pastors, teachers, deacons, etc. that they will be held accountable to a higher standard (James 3:1), and that they should teach the WHOLE counsel of God (Acts 20:26–27, Luke 24:27), not the parts they find agreeable, or “non-divisive”.
  2. To encourage the Body of Christ. In one of the greatest passages about the Rapture in the Bible, Paul tells us to encourage one another in these things (1 Thess. 4:18)! My father died last year on March 26th, 2024. We avidly discussed the return of Christ. I miss him a lot and look forward to seeing him in the air soon! This passage has brought me to tears and encouraged my heart like nothing else, and it should be preached loudly and unashamedly from the pulpit.
  3. To energize our evangelism. What better time to discuss all the crazy events of our day with a needy world? My friends have been more than open to hearing about the Rapture and what the Bible says about the future than ever. They all know something is not right in the world, but they are all searching to figure out what it is. This is our time! Our time!! To share the Word with them and bring our loved ones, and friends to Christ!
  4. For a blessing and a reward. Revelation 1:3 says “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy and keep the things which are written in it, for the time is near.” What more can we say? Watch and be ready! (Matthew 24:42, Mark 13:33-37, Luke 21:36, 1 Corinthians 16:13, 1 Thessalonians 5:6)

If you’re interested in knowing how you can find peace with God, and have eternal life, you’ve come to the right place! You can find out more about the Gospel here.

God bless you, and may you know the Lord, and most importantly, be known of Him.
